The Super Bowl is an annual football game between the best team from the AFC and the best team from the NFC. It is taken place during January/February. The first Super Bowl took place on January 15, 1967. It took place between Green Bay Packer and Kansas City Chiefs. Green Bay Packers won by a landslide winning 35-10. Every year after that there has been a Super Bowl. The Super Bowl takes place on a Sunday every year and many people look forward to watching it. Many things occur during the Super Bowl including great commercials, half time performances, good snacks, and also the game itself.

Commercials
Now a big thing in the Super Bowl are the commercials between the game. They are the most anticipated commercials of the year. Famous companies like Coke, Go Daddy and Doritos showcase their commercials during the game. Many people enjoy the commercials. In a recent poll on Reddit of 185 people, 30 people thought the commercial were better than the game itself. The commercials usually only come on during the game and don’t come on again for the rest of the year. This is why some people watch the Super Bowl just for the commercials. The commercials are not cheap to air either. For a simple 30- second commercial it would cost 4.5 million dollars. That is why they are some of the best commercials in the whole year.
Halftime Show
Another big thing in the Super Bowl is the half-time performance. In between every football game there is a half time where the players get a break. During the Super Bowl in the half time famous artist like Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift perform. These performances go all out. In the performances they use strobe lights, fireworks and stuff like that. Many people enjoy the performances. NFL pays a lot of money to the performers. The halftime performances have been a tradition in the super bowl since 1971 during the 4th Super Bowl. In the poll given on twitter 12 people out of 185 said they only watch the Super Bowl because of the halftime show. Although people enjoy watching the show, the game and the commercials take precedence.
Super Bowl Parties
Now one of the big thing in the Super Bowl are the snacks. During the game people want to eat something. During the Super Bowl the best snacks are made. People throw Super Bowl Parties and the main thing are the snacks. Some snacks include hot dogs, burgers, chips and dip, nachos and most famous chicken wings. Many people enjoy all of these snacks and love the super bowl because of the snacks. In the poll given on Reddit people were asked what their favorite snack was. Out of 185 people 66 people chose they liked wings the best. 31 people chose chips and dip. Lastly, 11 people chose nachos as their snack of choice.
The Game
The game itself is very exciting. The two best teams in the game go head to head seeking to win the title. Many teams go into the Super Bowl but there are a select teams that have went many teams. The 3 teams that have been to the super bowl the most are the Cowboys, Steelers, and Patriots with 8 appearances a piece. Steelers have won the most super bowls with a staggering 6 wins. But recently they haven’t gotten any wins. The most unfortunate teams in the Super Bowl are the Vikings and the bills. Each team has gotten into the Super Bowl four times each but has lost each and every one of them. The teams that have never gotten to the Super Bowl are the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, Jaguars, and the Texans.
Many people around the USA love the Super Bowl. Shazia Silat who is a mother of 3 was asked what she liked about the Super Bowl and what she liked about it. She answered, “What I like about the Super Bowl is that the whole family can get together and enjoy one game together. I also enjoy all the snacks and the funny commercials. I don’t really like football but I do sure love the Super Bowl.”
Matt Quille, junior at Colonia High School explained what the Super Bowl meant to him, “It means a day of hanging out with friends and family. With some nice tasty food, watching the best game of the year. Topping it off with some nice funny commercials.”
Sophomore form Colonia High School Andrew Pimentel was asked why he enjoyed the Super Bowl. Pimentel answered, “I like the Super Bowl because its a time where you get your friends and family together, kick back and just rest and enjoy the game and eat delicious food. Just the time with family and friends makes the day great.”
The next Super Bowl is going to be the 50th. Fams can’t wait for it. Its going to take place on the first Sunday of February in 2016 in San Francisco. The two potential team that are probably going to make are the Carolina Panthers and the Patriots. But anything can happened and guess fans will have to wait to see who gets in and who takes it all.
